The theatre program emphasizes meaningful process and excellent product. 它鼓励学生发展创造性, confident and proficient 执行ers and students of theatre. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to cater to both the casual and serious student of theatre.

For the serious student of theatre who wishes to pursue theatre in college or beyond, 我们提供高级剧团, a course offered to 11th and 12th graders who have successfully completed Performance 2. 这个课程就像一个小剧团, 涉及学生演员, 董事, 设计师, 舞台管理人员, and staging several intimate and provocative productions per year (in our recently renovated 99 seat 黑箱剧场) as part of our Stage 2 series. This method of ensemble work prepares the theatre student for the independent study of a university environment.
The 上师 剧院 program stages two Mainstage straight plays, 秋季和冬季各一次, as well as a spring 音乐al in collaboration with our 上师 Choral and Instrumental programs. Any Berkeley student is eligible to participate in this production, either onstage or working on design or technical teams. Recent productions include Les Misèrables, Chicago, and Into the Woods.
